What do we do?

Our identity and character are defined in our current mission, values and future vision of ourselves. The three facets of missionvision and values are the inspirational framework for our actions and strategy.

Mission

Provide support to all UIB governing bodies in decision-making based on current, relevant and reliable data for strategic planning and process management to attain quality outcomes.

Vision

A dynamic innovative unit (ready for future changes) with efficient and reliable methodologies and tools.

A unit acting as a catalyst for change in how the university operates, improving planning, decisions based on reliable data and process management that ensures top-notch outcomes.

Values

  • Rigour: understood as complete accuracy. Any information, report or outcome from the office must be precise. This is especially important in order to make the right decisions. It is embodied by quality control, ongoing reviews, double checks, documented approaches that are approved by the relevant bodies, etc.

  • Confidentiality: understood as the assurance to keep non-public institutional information confidential. This is embodied by discretion, especially in informal conversations. This means going beyond legal obligations and protecting institutional information and knowledge.

  • Independence: understood as the ability to issue reports and judgements that are not beholden to any authority. This is embodied by publishing rigorous reports, even when they may be uncomfortable.

  • Innovation: understood as implementing new working methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This is embodied by lifelong learning and exploring the latest techniques and tools to improve internal processes.
